This site is a personal family-history project dedicated to preserving stories, photographs, and memories of ancestors.
Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent. This helps us detect and prevent spam.
An anonymized string (a “hash”) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. You can read the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
After your comment is approved, your profile image (if any) becomes visible to the public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, please avoid including photos with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors can download those images and extract the location information.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter the information next time. These cookies last one year.
If you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
If you log in, several cookies will be set to save your login details and your display preferences. Login cookies last two days, display settings last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
When you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie will be saved. This cookie includes no personal data and simply notes the post ID of the article you edited. It expires in one day.
